Working with detachment

Helping students to release their obstacles within that block the inner life force that brings lightness, mobility, strength, flexibility, whatever we call it; it is LIFE.
When we cling to mind’s attachments we feel the symptoms as in tight tense muscles and there is a state of being in fight or flight response.
We can’t get to the root of the problem unless we practice on loosening the deposit from the mind in the layer beneath the body; the pranic sheath. This is a substance that’s subtle and can only be directly perceived and not through the 5 senses which we have been conditioned to live through.
This 6th sense gives information of the state within.
Where there is clinging held; there is no life felt, no lightness.
Where there is life and lightness; there is no clinging.
They exclude eachother. (clinging & life).
The attachments are created by the self identification of the mind.
This aspect needs labels, wants, dislikes, it clings to bodily life.
We don’t understand all of this because it creates a vagueness to what life is and means.
So we just go with what our senses feed us and the desires and dislikes match what we believe to need for determining what our life means to us.
The practice of yoga isn’t about the physical body as we have been led to believe in the Western culture.
The yoga goes deeper than performing postures and desiring getting into them and looking good whilst in them.
A dawning of real wisdom is not the result of reducing toxins in the body.
The complete clearing of these obstacles leads to liberation”ref; Pranayama Lost in Translation by Angela Ashwin.
So complete detachment leads to liberation.
This is the mind being free from all attachments leaving peace, stillness and understanding what life is; its purpose is to evolve us on all levels.
The old text of the Bhagavad Gita 34,19 reinforces this with the quote “ Always perform your duty without attachment, attachment- free performance leads to the highest state.
Om Shanti
