The play of gunas

Mind and body consciousness is manifested in 3 different qualities, known as the gunas.

Sattva - illuminating, pure or good quality which leads to clarity and mental serenity.

Rajas - quality of mobility or activity , makes a person active, energetic, tense and wilful.

Tamas - dark, restraining quality, obstructs and counteracts rajas  to work and sattva to reveal.

We will understand how the play of these qualities are within us and by bringing awareness to them we can progress from being held by them.

Moving tamas out and claiming rajas will help illumine the sattvic quality within.

Using metta meditation we will transform any patterns of tamas and rajas.

Connecting inwards from a space where no judgement is known will release from being pulled and played by the gunas, living from the quality of sattva; friendliness, care and goodwill. A more peaceful and wise society can result; a better place to live in.
