Shvetashvatara Upanishad-

How the ego self can rise above pleasure and pain when we realise that the purpose of time, nature, necessity, accident, elements, energy, intelligence are the effects and not the cause of this cosmos.

And their only purpose is to help the self see himself as One that rules over time space and causality
