Life is same within as it is outside

In

authentic yoga practice we work on our inner life and not on the physical body.

We come to see, “ vidya” in Sanskrit something more than body.

We are the experiencer of life and body and when we look in this way it moves more freely.

We are not stuck in body’s physical discomfort.

The more we practice the more we experience BRIGHTNESS; “sattva” within.

However we can feel the clouds drop down again during our practice and in life too.

This is an obstacle we can overcome.

This week we will look at the obstacle which has a sneaky voice from within “ you’ll never be bright, you can’t change, what’s the point…? Just go and fill your senses back up with something nice like a sweet dessert, alcohol, or watch a film - then you’ll feel brighter” This is only temporary and then the cloud gets darker next time.

The ancient yogis knew of these as antarayahs.

When we understand ourselves and the mind how it plays we can use the yoga teachings to see and experience past the play of impermanence of the relationship of life with senses.

We can experience that magnitude of consciousness that is the same everywhere in life

Just as we are experiencing life ontop of a mountain we can experience that same magnitude inside.

Om Shanti 🙏
