Teaching theme this week is working towards releasing the obstacle that doesn’t allow us to see who we truly are.
Avidya is the main obstacle, this is the inability to seeing the truth of who we are.
The mind aspect of ahamkar has the ability to create a false sense of who we are.
Ahamkar creates another aspect of who we are - a “me aspect” which likes, dislikes, and fears. This creates a separate sense of “me” - a subject and an object; that which it’s seeing/ experiencing.
For example; “I want to go on holiday.”
But if we could experience that we are exactly the same whether we go on holiday or not. It is a temporary experience and so is happiness.
When we go beyond and experience everything from our whole inner awareness and not make a subject : object or a temporary emotion to acknowledge ourselves with, we experience everything moves through us and not change who we fundamentally are.
When the mind is in its natural state of stillness, this is Atman and it cannot be apart from you as it just Being.
If you see yourself as happy, angry then it has to be an ego identity and you are aware of it from Atman.
Atman, pure consciousness cannot see itself, it is the one underlying all identification.
You are the witness of feelings, objects…
You cannot be apart from yourself; true Self
Om Shanti
