aspect wanting, wishing, looking for something. The other here, present, in the now, accepting all there is.
One is wanting to fulfil desires to feel an identity and the other is with the truth of who we are, just pure awareness; nothing created or manufactured.
The part that wants will always be in the same predicament and creates suffering.
We can understand in yoga and meditation that when the mind is in stillness and not searching but detaching then we are in our natural state of being, this is what the yogis call the true Self and the other, the ego self.
When we see the truth of the natural state of mind the heart opens and there is the quality of oneness, compassion. a feeling of connection to circumstances.
After all we are just awareness of life.
The spiritual practice is to make the shift and to stay detached.
The practice is the path of selfless service; Karma yoga, everything we do is to find the truth of who we are, not taking on labels, emotions but to be fully conscious in the here and now.
We will use the yoga texts; Patanjali Yoga Sutras to help with mastering the mind, the path of Karma yoga from the Bhagavad Gita and Upanishads reference with the two aspects of mind.
Om Shanti
